Original Character: Adam Greenberg | The Frog Prince

[personal profile] herpetologist 2013-04-25 10:45 pm (UTC)(link)
Adam Greenberg from The Frog Prince

The Fairytale
Adam was a prince who was always a bit of a daydreamer. He spent most of his time wanting to see the world and far too curious about how things worked for his own good. He was cursed by a witch and turned into a frog when he was more interested in how a frog could sit on a lily pad and not sink it than he was in her beauty.

Eventually he found a young princess crying over losing her ball in a well, and fetched it for her if she promised to kiss him. Unfortunately for him she did not keep her promise and threw him against the wall when he asked too many times (Oddly enough he still wanted to marry her when that broke the curse)

In Storybrooke
Adam Greenberg is a Herpetologist. He studies reptiles and amphibians for a living. Which is hilarious considering he now lives in Maine. Bit of an unorthadox location for someone like him.

He's in a constant on-and-off relationship with his Fiance/Girlfriend Elisabeth [personal profile] herpetophobic
When they're together they give everyone cavities, when they're apart no one hears the end of how annoying/frustrating/howmuch of a screw up he is from Lis.

Elisabeth Clements

→ Fairytale Land

Once upon a time, as the story goes, there was once a princess who was the youngest and fairest daughter of a humble king. One day she lost her ball in the pond and she was just completely distraught. A kind albeit gross frog offered to help in exchange for living in the castle with her or something--the details really didn't matter to her because she wasn't going to follow through.

She had every intent of ignoring that stupid frog but her father made her honour her agreement and everything. It was the absolute worst night of her life. Like, seriously. Who even wants to share the food on their plate with a slimy frog?? So gross. And then it announced that it wanted to sleep in her bed too and that was when she was like aw hell nah.

Elisabeth might hate frogs, but she could tolerate holding one long enough to chuck it at a wall. Surprise, surprise. That somehow broke Adam's curse and it was love at first sight or something.

→ Storybrooke

In Storybrooke, Elisabeth makes her living making/designing/mending/altering clothing. Clothing and fashion is her life, and she will tell you the only thing she loves more than that is coffee. That might not actually be the truth, but that's what she'll insist anyway.

Her life is a constant state of drama, or a Taylor Swift album on repeat. Both are accurate. Needless to say, her relationship with Adam is turbulent. If they're together, it won't be long before she throws him out of the house. When she insists that they're never ever ever getting back together, take it with a grain of salt and a few day.

Original Character: Rhiannon Hart | Rapunzel

Fairy Tale Land

Rapunzel started out life like any other baby girl, born to loving parents after years trying for a child. Beloved by her parents, the King and Queen, as well as the whole kingdom, she lived three happy years in the arms of adoring parents. Of course happy endings aren't always well known in Fairy Tale Land, and that all changed on the day of her third birthday.

Turns out, her conception hadn't been all that miraculous after all. In fact, King Robert had made a deal to get the daughter that he and his wife had been praying for so desperately. A child for a precious heirloom that had been in the family for (at least) sixty generations. All he had to do was find a magical flower, a one-of-a-kind plant with magical healing properties, and the child would be theirs. It seemed too good to be true, and of course Robert agreed right away. Nine months after consuming the flower, Rapunzel was born bearing a brilliant fuzz of golden hair. Three peaceful years passed without [villain type here] asking for their prize. It was almost as if they didn't want payment, and the king was more than relieved at not having to hold up his end of the bargain.

They hadn't forgotten, nor had they waived the debt. Rather, [villain type here] had just been biding their time, and on Rapunzel's third birthday they approached the queen. With no knowledge of the deal that her husband had made, she refused to part with the precious heirloom. After asking her in very specific terms, if she was willing to pay, they just smiled their wicked smile and nodded. All that was said was 'as you wish' and they disappeared, taking Rapunzel with him.

Placed in the custody of an old, extremely paranoid woman, Rapunzel lived the next fifteen years in a tower hidden in the middle of the woods, far away from her grieving parents and with no knowledge of her past life. Anything that she thought she remembered was chalked up to simply dreams and fairy tales told by her beloved mother, all told while brushing her long golden hair. It was never to be cut, though Rapunzel never knew why. She didn't even think to ask until she was around sixteen, at which point the reaction was so harsh and unforgiving that she never dared bring the subject up again. She just sat in her tower, sang, painted, and gazed out of her window as she longed for more.

Everything changed a week before eighteenth birthday, and it all began with a strange man falling in through her window. Terrified, her first reaction was to knock him out with the heaviest object that she could find, and bind him to a chair. However, her curiosity piqued, and as the stranger came to she demanded to be taken to the castle that she could barely see in the distance from her window. It had been all she had looked at for fifteen years. Of course she wanted to see it, and when better than when she finally had an escort.

It was on this journey to the castle, to explore and find out more about the land that she had lived her whole life without ever seeing once that the curse hit. When she woke up, things were no longer what they seemed.

La la la I will fix this tomorrow when I am more awake but basically Maleficent = fake mom/captor.

Storybrooke

A notorious loner, Rhiannon believes that she grew up under the care of her mother. Always preferring to stay in and help her mother to going out into town with the other people of Storybrooke, not much is known about her by the other townspeople. She works below her small apartment in the business owned with her mom, and is rarely seen anywhere else. Since Emma's arrival however, it seemed that a new side has been found in Rhiannon and she started venturing further and further. She started to make conversation with strangers, smiling brighter and wider each day, and eventually started to become quite well known by the other residents in town.

On the day that the curse broke, she had been on her way to the store when she suddenly froze. She remembered everything, and she started running around frantically, calling out for her mother. Surely if she was here, her mother had to be too, right?

She still isn't aware that the King and Queen are her real parents, or that Maleficent isn't actually her mother. All she knows now is that she has somehow wound up in a strange land, far away from home, and she wants answers. Fast.

[villain type here] being used for back story purposes, but if anyone wants to grab the position then just let me know.

Original Character: Miranda Ostrander | The Little Mermaid

[personal profile] landlock 2013-04-28 12:48 am (UTC)(link)
Fairy Tale Land
Ariel was the youngest daughter of Triton, king of the sea. She would tend the coral reefs with her other sisters and was particularly fond of singing. She had a special friendship with the whale Monstro, as well as a seagull named Scully and a fish named Flounder. The king's crab advisor Sebastian often had to act as her babysitter, as she was prone to wandering and loved to explore.

She saved a human named Eric from drowning and became enchanted with that world. She made a deal with the sea witch Ursula to trade her fins for feet but all magic comes at a price: she gave up her voice, and walking was painful for her. Ariel needed to win Eric's love in order to stay human forever....

Storybrooke
Miranda is a seventeen-year-old mute who is bound in a wheelchair. She goes to the hospital for physical therapy and communicates through American Sign Language or writing. She enjoys gardening and her dream is to go to college to become a marine biologist.

(if we get an Ursula I'll work on their connected Storybrooke backstory)
